According to Jules Lund, founder of influencer marketing platform Tribe, user generated content is offering businesses their greatest marketing advantage yet.

Lund says that while user generated content will not replace the need for creative agencies, now more than ever, agencies are sourcing photographic content from loyal brand followers to use in their own marketing strategies.

In previous years, creative agencies were often only required to release a limited number of advertisements per year. Lund says the game has changed with agencies expected to release new content every week, simply making it harder to maintain the same quality with limited time.

Lund advises agencies to encourage consumers to engage in their business through social media. In today’s consumer climate, it is no longer just about creating content that is relevant, but customers love personalisation.

“Who better to create content that customers love, than customers themselves. There exists the demand, the supply and there exists the tech enablement in the centre.”

Influencer marketing and social media success are to thank for the revolution. Facebook user generated content engages audiences 6.9x more than brand generated content.
